The frame bus: exact amplification and catalysis of complexness references in real quantum networks

In plain wordsIn real-number quantum networks, a resource on n pairs that alone gives no pair a complex-number reference becomes, once one pair holds such a reference, an exact reference on every pair, by local real operations and one broadcast, and the added reference comes back.

The result

As the paper states it, in briefHow real network parties without a shared convention for the complex unit can establish one by consuming pairwise reference states.

Novelty and credit

Novelty
New, with named precedent: the mechanism belongs to the known unlocking class of bound entanglement (Smolin; Augusiak and Horodecki; Dür and Cirac; Wang and Ying), and the paper places it there. New, in its words: the trigger is an auxiliary reference, the seed is returned in kind, and one seed releases all n pairs.
